[RECIPE] Squash Meatballs with Honey Garlic Sauce Budget Recipe

This is an easy and economical squash recipe that you can make at home. Fried squash with honey garlic sauce makes every bite of this veggie meatball deliciously unrecognizable. The sweet smell of the freshly cooked squash mixed with garlic and black pepper notes in the air takes this dish to slight likeness to a gourmet.

Squash Meatballs with Honey Garlic Sauce Budget Recipe

I'd like to say this is one of the best 'imbento' or invented recipes that I had. As much as I had to get away from canned goods, they do come in handy once in a while especially when you ran out of meat in the fridge.

With the few slices of squash in hand and with a newly bought can of Beef Loaf (which hardly tastes like beef), I began to get this recipe together.

There are some recipes that I had before that I think I could still improve. However, I think I couldn't get it any better with this one. I love how the squash sweetens the entire dish and it complements the flavor of beef loaf. Everything I mixed in with this dish was coming together perfectly. This dish is a stand-out.

This squash meatballs will cost you at most 30 to 40 pesos, that is if you already have the other condiments in hand like the honey and minced garlic. This is a 2-3 person serving.

In my opinion, I wouldn't want anything changed in this dish, but if you want to replace the beef loaf with something else, you can also do that. You can substitute pure ground beef instead. You may add flour to use as an extender. Using ground beef will be a healthier substitute. Squash may not be a lot of kids' favorite but this is one of the best ways to introduce squash in their diet.

    1. Awww.. You made my day! You're my first real commenter ever since my blog went live. Yeah I was really so busy with real estate and it's been 2 months that I took the time off. I was emotionally and physically exhausted. Cooking and staying at home is my therapy. I'll see you around until your next post. :-) The same here, glad to connect with you again.
